Export Items

This dialog allows you to export project items to the following formats: TMX files Tab-delimited text files Excel files The Selection section has the following fields: All items in project. It exports all items in all glossaries in the project. This is useful for example to export all the items to TMX to import them in a translation memory. All items in a glossary. It exports all items that belong to an specific glossary or dictionary of the project. »

Export Ongoing Translation to MS Word

This dialog allows you to export the project files defined as ongoing translation to a Microsoft Word document. As exported, only the target text is proofing ready, so you can use the exported document for grammar checking for spell-checking in a language not supported by Xbench, such as Thai, Chinese, or Japanese. The Filtering section has the following fields: Translated items. Only the items flagged as already translated will be exported. »

Project

This tab shows information about each file in the project, including the number of items that it loaded. It can be opened with View->Project. To close this tab, press Ctrl+F4. »

Language Selection

The Source/Target Language Selection dialog allows you to specify the ISO language and country codes. Once you select a locale in this dialog, it is brought to the Export Items dialog and it is remembered in the corresponding combo box. »

Checklist Manager

This tab allows you to manage your Personal and Project Checklists. A checklist is a series of searches that can be run in batch from the QA tab. Typically, you store in checklists common pitfalls in the translation, such as use of banned terms or expressions. It is a very good practice to compile client feedback in checklists to make sure that no feedback is forgotten in subsequent deliveries of translations. »

Checklists and Categories

This dialog allows you to specify which checklists and/or categories should be included in the QA run by checking the desired ones in the Checklists to check and Categories to check lists. You can check or uncheck all of them by using the Check All and Uncheck All options. »

Add Checklist Item

This dialog allows you to add an item to a checklist. Choose the checklist that will hold the entry that is being added in the Checklist drop-down. The fields in this dialog are primed with the values of your last search. The fields in this dialog are the following: Name. A short name for the checklist item. Description. A description for the checklist item. Category. A free text category for the checklist item. »

New Checklist Item

This dialog allows you to add a new item to a checklist. The fields in this dialog are: Name. A short name for the checklist item. Description. A description for the checklist item. Category. A free text category for the checklist item. You can retrieve categories previously entered in this field by clicking on the drop-down arrow at the end of this field. Powersearch. Check this check box to indicate that the search will be in Powersearch mode. »

Edit Checklist Item

This dialog allows you to edit an existing item in a checklist. The fields in this dialog are the following: Name. A short name for the checklist item. Description. A description for the checklist item. Category. A free text category for the checklist item. You can retrieve categories previously entered in this field by clicking on the drop-down arrow at the end of this field. Powersearch. Check this check box to indicate that the search will be in Powersearch mode. »

Override Checklist Item

This dialog allows you to override the values of an inherited item in a checklist. When you override the values or an item, the original values for the item remain unmodified in the inherited checklist. The icon for the item becomes so that you can identify that values were overridden. The fields in this dialog are the following: Name. A short name for the checklist item. Description. A description for the checklist item. »
